Ritz Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Bits Branded Product Recall

Foster’s Food Fair-IGA would like to announce that Mondelez Global LLC has issued a voluntary recall on certain Ritz Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Bits branded products due contamination of salmonella, which can cause major health risks.

Salmonella is a toxic organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and produce more severe illnesses.

Foster’s IGA does carry Ritz Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Bits branded Products but has not been affected by this recall.

No other Ritz branded products are included within this recall.

Customers should check for Ritz Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Bits branded products in their homes to be sure none of the affected product has been purchased. We encourage all customers who have purchased this product from any of our Foster’s IGA locations to return the affected product for a full refund. Please discontinue use of any affected product
