Job Title: Meat /Seafood Manager
Department: Meat and Seafood
Reports To: Assistant Store Manager and/or Store Manager
Coordinates with: Department Senior Manager


Job Summary – The position is responsible for effectively planning, organizing, leading, coordinating and optimizing the materials and human resources in the assigned department.  The position must manage daily operations, expenses, associate development and customer satisfaction. The position must also provide variety and high quality products appealingly displayed to maximize the sales and profits of the department while maintaining great customer service.


Job Duties

  1. Provide all customers with prompt, courteous and friendly service.
  2. Conduct performance evaluations, associate training and development and disciplinary or coaching actions to meet department goals, objectives and budgets.
  3. Ensure that all department associates are trained according to store policies and procedures to meet the standards of the department.
  4. Maintain knowledge of products and services.
  5. Plan and build the department displays for maximum sales and turnover, assign daily tasks of the department, follow up and Assist where needed.
  6. Monitor and manage administrative duties, scheduling and assigning tasks and department goals and objectives.
  7. Monitor and maintain communication logs, shrink logs, product logs, to do lists, Manager’s List etc.
  8. Monitor the receiving and unloading, quality, counts and condition of meat and seafood merchandise
  9. Oversee and follow ordering, maintenance and inventory control processes for department products and supplies.
  10. Monitor the receiving and unloading, quality, counts and condition of department merchandise.
  11. Cut meat in accordance to USDA standards.
  12. Always maintain an organized and clean work area.
  13. Continually develop team members through Training, Coaching, Advising, or Mentoring.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, comprehend, write and speak English.
  • Ability to perform basic Math and follow company CTO’s.
  • Computer competency required.
  • Comprehension of business basics required.
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Positive interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work early and varied hours/days as store dictates.
  • Ability to lift to 75 lbs and to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in consistently cold temperatures of below 50 degrees.
  • Ability to timely multitask while working in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to display initiative.
  • Ability to make decisions and provide direction.
  • Organized time management skills.
  • Strong management/leadership skills.
  • Willingness to learn P&L reports and/CTO.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
  • Company will provide certification for the Complete Basic Food & Hygiene certification.
  • Proven knowledge of USDA cutting techniques.
  • 8-10 years retail cutting experience in a high volume environment.
  • 3-5 management experience in meat and seafood operations or related field. 
  • Verified proof of full COVID-19 vaccination required.

When starting with Foster’s Food Fair, Ltd. as a Meat & Seafood Manager, you’ll start earning between CI$47,000.00 and CI$50,000.00 annually, based on experience. As you progress with the company within this role, opportunities for a pay increase will be determined through annual evaluations.
