Johnson and Johnson Baby Powder Recall

Foster’s Food Fair would like to announce that Johnson & Johnson Inc. has issued a voluntary recall on a single lot (#22318RB) of their Johnson’s Baby Powder manufactured in New Brunswick, New Jersey due to the presence of sub-trace levels of chrysotile asbestos contamination. Customers are warned not to use the product even if it does not look or smell faulty.
Inhaling asbestos can cause asbestosis, is a serious, chronic, noncancerous respiratory disease that can cause scarring of the lung tissue, shortness of breath, and a dry crackling sound in the lungs when inhaling. In advanced stages, this disease may cause cardiac failure. People experiencing these problems should seek immediate medical attention.
Foster’s does not carry the affected Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder and has not been affected by this recall.
No other Johnson & Johnson branded product is included within this recall.
Customers should check the lot number on the back of Johnson & Johnson branded products at homes to be sure none of the affected product has been purchased. We encourage all customers who have purchased this product from any of our Foster’s locations to return the affected product for a full refund. Please discontinue use of any affected product
